News: DoFollow, Quick Tips, Upcoming Posts, and More!
-
All kinds of exciting news and updates here on Noobcube. First of all, just wanted to thank everyone that has subscribed to Noobcube. Thank all of you for the kind emails, and kind words. We promise to keep the tutorials coming!
This is just a quick Update post, to let you know of some changes here at Noobcube. We promise to keep our Site News posts to a minimum by collectively reporting updates and news rather than posting a new article every time something changes! I don't want to flood your RSS feeds with a bunch of Site News Articles. So let's get started!
We've Enabled DoFollow on Links
That's right, we've gone ahead and removed the "no-follow" from all of our comment links. We feel, not only does it encourage discussion in our posts, but it's a way of "giving back" to the readers!
We've enabled enough spam protection and trust our readers to respect what we're doing here, and not take advantage of us by posting nonsense in our comments. Please keep in mind, we're still moderating all comments to help keep the arbitrary comments to a minimum.
Keep the comments, feedback, constructive criticism, and questions coming!
Quick Tips
We have created a new category on Noobcube titled "Quick Tips". Quick Tips will consist of quick tutorials and resources on topics like Photoshop, CSS, Javascript, PHP, WordPress, Illustrator, etc.
We've excluded these posts from the front page, due to the amount of Quick Tips we plan to provide. We've also created another Feed Subscription option, where you can choose to opt out of receiving updates on the Quick Tips category. Currently, if you're a subscriber of "All Noobcube Content", you will be receiving updates via feed and/or email on our Quick Tips articles.
We promise to only post Quick Tips on topics we think are useful to you. Not all Quick Tips are going to be new to every reader, but we feel that they will help a lot of our readers out.
Upcoming Posts
Some of you may have noticed we've implemented an "Upcoming Posts" tab to the left of our site. We felt it to be advantageous to provide our readers a peek into the future, and get an idea what's to be coming.
As many of you know, creating these tutorials takes a lot of time, so we appreciate your patience while waiting for our next articles.
IE6 Rendering
We have fixed the layout bugs that were happening here while viewing our site in Internet Explorer 6. It's not a lot of you, but there are still a small percentage of our readers lurking around using this ancient browser, and we want to make sure to keep them happy still.
Noobcube Future
Noobcube is probably going to be going through some major changes in the coming months. We will be beefing up the site to give it more of a community feel. We're also hoping to find quality writers out there to help provide our readers with more quality tutorials and resources on a regular basis. Currently, it's mainly me contributing to Noobcube, and I am a busy man!
Here are some things to look forward to here at Noobcube (some may take longer than others):
- A user-submitted links section. This will be moderated by us and we'll be sure only quality tutorials and resources are being added.
- User and Author Profiles to help contribute to the community feel
- A Top Commentators section with links to your URL's, Twitters, etc.
- A Noobcube re-design to encompass the new features and enhancements
Thanks again to all of you! It's been a great first couple months, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for Noobcube.
I'm getting married this weekend, so wish me luck!
About the author
I love web design and development. It's what I do before bed, and what I can't wait to do when I wake up. So, what do I do when I'm not designing, coding, or dreaming about designing and coding? Well, I'm a music connoisseur, a daddy, a husband, a writer, a joker, and a friend.

so how much spam are you getting with the no-follow turned off?
Well, askimet has blocked all of it thus far, so none that has effected me.
